Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) 🚗
Scheduling & Lesson Structure
How long is each driving session, and how many hours should I book?
Each behind-the-wheel session is typically 1.5 hours. While we customize the plan based on the student’s progress, we recommend 6 to 8 hours as a solid baseline for most students to build confident skill development. We can also provide shorter lessons if a different timeframe better suits your student's needs.
How fast can we complete the lessons?
We offer complete pace flexibility! Most students space things out with 1–2 lessons per week. Others prefer to do a couple of sessions upfront, take a few weeks to practice at home, and then come back to reinforce their skills. We move at whatever pace makes your teen feel safest.
How does your pricing work?
We utilize a tiered pricing structure—the more total hours you select for your child, the lower your hourly rate becomes. You have complete flexibility to select the exact number of hours that fits your needs and budget.
Vehicle & Safety
What car will my child be driving, and is it safe?
All lessons are conducted in an official 816 Driving School vehicle (featuring our brand-new 2026 Honda Civic!). For total peace of mind, our cars are equipped with a passenger-side instructor brake. This dual-control safety feature allows our instructors to provide instant feedback and maintain a controlled, safe environment while your teen practices real-world decision-making.
Individualized Support & Adult Drivers
My child gets incredibly nervous or has specific learning needs. Can you help?
Absolutely. We specialize in individualized support and are highly experienced in adapting lessons for students who deal with severe driving anxiety, feel easily overwhelmed, or have difficulty maintaining sustained attention. We pride ourselves on creating a calm, high-patience environment.
Do you work with adult drivers?
Yes! While we train many teenagers, 816 Driving School proudly works with adults of all ages and skill levels. Whether you are an absolute beginner getting your license later in life, an international resident adjusting to US roads, or just looking to regain your confidence behind the wheel, we tailor our adult lessons to fit your specific goals and pace.
Location, Booking, & Logistics
Where do we meet for lessons?
To ensure consistency and safety, all student pickups and drop-offs take place at the B&B Theatres in Liberty, MO.
How do we coordinate our lesson dates?
Once you submit an inquiry, dates will be scheduled directly with Tyler Nash. After finalizing your schedule, you will receive an official calendar invitation to confirm your selected dates and times. (Pro-tip: If you don't see the invite in your inbox, please double-check your spam/junk folder!)
Do you offer home or school pickup?
To keep our standard packages as affordable as possible, all standard lessons begin and end at the B&B Theatres in Liberty. However, we do offer an ultra-convenient, limited Premium Concierge Pickup Package for families located within a strict radius of Liberty / Liberty North High Schools. Please inquire via our submission form for availability and premium rates.
Payment, Discounts, & Graduation
When is payment due, and what methods do you accept?
Payment is due on the date of your child's first driving lesson. We gladly accept Cash, Check, or Venmo (@tnash2 — just look for the official 816 Driving School logo).
Do you provide a completion certificate for insurance discounts?
Yes! A certificate of completion is provided immediately following your final lesson. We highly recommend checking with your auto insurance provider, as many companies offer a premium discount for completing our professional program.
